FURRADISE PAPILLONS, PERSIANS & EXOTICS

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE WRAPPED IN FURR!

ABOUT FURRADISE

Hi and welcome to our website!  My name is Olive Paradise and I am owned by the most loving fur babies in the world!  We live in Texas, just north of Houston.  My cattery/kennel is not large as I strive for excellence, temperment and quality over quantity.  My babies are allowed to roam the entire house as they are as much a part of the family as I am.  They have been raised underfoot with children and well socialized.  I will introduce you to each of them in the following pages.

                                    My grandkids...Heather and Travis.

I have always loved animals but it wasn't until 1999 that I discovered Papillons.  I had pets my entire life but when they grew up, most of them didn't interact or act as I had hoped they would.  I researched dog breeds by the description of how they would act when fully grown.  Very few fit the profile but the Papillons caught my eye, soon after they captured my heart.

I contacted several breeders for information and learned as much as I could before acquiring one.  Utimately I bought my first pair from a wonderful lady, Ella Blakeley - Emberglow Papillons: http://www.eldaria.net/emberglow/.  Maestro was still a puppy and Melody was a year old when they adopted me.  I immediately fell in love with this breed.  Maestro was loving, intelligent and  tops in his class in obedience and agility.   In the next few years they had two litters.  Ah, puppy breath!!

Maestro was the pet love of my life but unfortunately met an untimely death.  I know I can never replace him but I decided that I loved the traits of this breed so much that I wanted to continue the line so I acquired another pair.  I want to preserve what it was about them that I fell in love with, the standards of this breed.  My Papillons are AKC registered.  These loving babies teach me something new every day.  What a joy it is just to be around them.  I soon began showing them.

In 2002 Valentine, a shaded silver Persian came my way, a gift from a loving friend.  Valentine has the most beautiful big green eyes.  I just couldn't believe that cats could actually be that loving.  Most are independant and standoffish (if there is such a word).

I had never experienced kittens being born so I wanted to try at least one litter.  In the process of finding the purfect mate for her, I have made some of the most wonderful new friends which started my interest showing cats.

I found out the hard way and very quickly that breeding animals is not an easy thing.  You can get your heart broken in an instant.  Valentine needed emergency surgery and could no longer have kittens.  She did have four that survived the first time.  I kept one male, Cupid.  Oh what a love he is.  Have you ever seen a cat stretch his front leg out for you to rub his arm pit?  He just turns to mush when you love on him.

I wanted to do the same thing with the Persians as I had begun with the Papillons, breed to preserve the traits that are so loveable about them!  I soon discovered Exotics.  With showing both cats and dogs a short coat was a blessing.  No long hair to groom for a show but with the same loving traits.  My cats are all CFA registered and PKD free.

With all of the tragedy that's been going on in the world, I wanted to do more to help.  I became involved in dog rescue.  I knew that I couldn't foster just any breed because I have my own little ones that need protection and a strange dog can not be trusted around them.  I couldn't take the chance of one of them being hurt.

Papillons however are different as I've explained.  Ninety-nine percent of the time you can put a bunch of Paps together in the same place, even if they don't know each other, and they all get along.  Problem solved, I began fostering Papillons.  One little guy stole my heart and you will meet him, Scooter, in this website as well.  I adopted him sight unseen, I only saw a photo of him and heard his sad tale.  He now has his forever home.  He is more wonderful than I could have imagined!  Everyone loves him!

Well, there you have it.  The story does continue so please enjoy the following pages and check back often to watch us grow, hear happy tails and view some new photos. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I am truely blessed!!  Thank you for visiting.
